END TO END… LAND’S END TO JOHN O’GROATS BY BIKE

END TO END… LAND’S END TO JOHN O’GROATS BY BIKE

On July 31st My cousin Phil and I set off on our little adventure via Fowey, Moretonhampstead (Dartmoor), Street, Monmouth, Clun, Runcorn, Slaidburn, Keswick, Moffatt, Loch Lomond, Glencoe, Inverness, The Crask Inn and finally (we hope!) John O’Groats.

We have booked 14 B&Bs and hope to meet friends and family along the way and celebrate with Sarah and Chrissie in Northern Scotland. The bikes have been serviced and I think I have single handedly kept our local bike shop going by buying just about any bit of kit that looks useful including a Garmin and large panniers!

We have done a little bit of training including back-to-back days out from Old to Rutland Water (see pictorial evidence!) and back and then Grafham Water. So far so good!

As part of our effort I would like to raise some money for some excellent causes. 2 national and one local.

Motor Neurone Disease Association in memory of my mother. Alzheimer’s Research Society in memory of Sarah’s mother and for my father. Home-Start Kettering support for struggling local families.

Phil is raising money separately for the Richard Dimbleby Cancer Trust

If you feel you are able to support I would really appreciate it. You can donate to any of the following pages

Motor Neurone or Alzheimer’s   Go to Justgiving website then search Paul Hampden Smith
